Are Your Drinks Alkaline or Acidic?

Surprisingly there are still many people who don’t think that drinking alkaline water is beneficial to you. The benefits have been known for decades in Japan and South Korea where water ionizers were created but here in the states some people even call it snake oil.
The reason for this is they simply believe that the body will adjust it’s own ph. Yet simple science will tell you that in order to adjust the ph you have to add other ingredients to change it. If you add acidic ingredients then you will have acids. If you want alkaline then you need alkaline ingredients. It’s really simple.
So how does the body go about adjusting ph? It takes the “rob Peter to pay Paul” analogy. If your not getting the proper amount of minerals that your body uses to keep an optimal ph in your blood then it will take it from your bones or other areas of your body and you will suffer (disease). The body can’t create a higher ph out of thin air. If you are not giving it the proper nutrients AND you are continually adding more acids to the body how will it keep an optimal ph? If you keep adding acids do you think it will simply adjust and create an alkaline ph by itself? They can’t seem to answer that one. The biggest factor they seem to forget is diet!
Soda is the most acidic beverage people drink today and many people drink a lot of it! The ph of carbonated drinks is down around 2.5. This is due to having phosphoric acid in it. It is highly acidic. How do you increase the ph of your body when you are drinking something that is so acidic and poisonous to your body? First you need to stop drinking it and second you should start drinking alkaline water to help neutralize the acids that have built up in your body.
Here is a great video by actor Ed Begley Jr and his wife Rachelle as they do an experiment in their kitchen using some of the more common drinks found in most people’s diets. The ionizer they use and is shown in the video is the KYK Genesis water ionizer.
